We’re excited to officially announce that we recently made a strategic move by appointing Carlos "Ocelote" Rodríguez, the founder, largest shareholder, and former CEO of G2 Esports, as an active advisor for Farcana. G2 Esports is widely recognized as one of the most valuable esports organizations in the world, with an enterprise value of over $350 million.
Rodríguez's extensive experience and business acumen in the video game industry will undoubtedly provide valuable insights to Farcana as we continue to innovate and push the boundaries of Web3 gaming.
More About Carlos Rodríguez
Rodríguez was a professional player and captain for SK Gaming, a well-known European esports organization. He also played World of Warcraft and League of Legends professionally before transitioning to leadership as the founding CEO of G2 Esports in 2014.
He remained the CEO of G2 Esports for over 10 years, during which the company became one of the world's most successful esports organizations. In 2022, after establishing numerous partnerships with major international companies such as BMW, Mastercard, Pringles, Domino's Pizza, and Adidas and achieving a perceived valuation of over $350 million, the entrepreneur resigned from his active CEO role to pursue personal ventures.
Farcana Attracts Carlos Rodríguez to Its Board
According to Rodríguez, he was drawn to the Web3 game not only because of the game itself but also because of our founder and CEO, Illman Shazhaev. Illman has an impressive background, having built several health tech, game tech, and industrial AI solutions. He works with the United Nations as an expert under the UNODC program, using applied AI to tackle social issues in developing nations. Illman also holds 10 registered invention patents and has authored over 46 scientific articles.
Therefore, the two hit it off and began working on a broader esports strategy for Farcana after its initial success in the Web3 industry. Our team has also expanded to become one of the most influential gaming studios in the MENA region.
